Peter King's 1964 P5 Saloon in
MA

|
Hi Glen,
Nice to see the new site up!
I'm enclosing a few pics of my Rovers, in case you wish to post them
up.
The P5 is a '64, which I completed restoring in 2002. I replaced all
rot with new metal, re-chromed needy parts, and replaced the entire
interior to original specs. I drive it regularly in the good weather
months, along with my '71 3500s and '67 P5 MKIII Coupé.
I brought the 3500s from California, in need of some TLC, but
running. I replaced a crumpled rear bumper and boot lid, and
restored the original interior, replacing the carpets and repairing
and re-dying the seats. I recently replaced the transmission, and
am in the middle of rebuilding a spare engine, which will eventually
take its place under the hood. For now, however, all systems are go,
and it is a joy to drive.
The '67 MKIII is an import, right-sided driver. It underwent a body
restoration by a previous owner some years back, and I brought it
back into service, rebuilding brakes, working out shifting and
electrical issues, and replacing shocks, bushes and other suspension
components. The engine purrs like a kitten.
Thanks, and keep up the good work!
Peter King
